It establishes a framework of government that is meant to withstand not only the test of time, but a full collapse of leadership. It is a document that establishes equality to all who are citizens of this great nation. It is a document that establishes rights of citizens against a tyrannical government. Most importantly, it is a document that guarantees that the main job of the government is to “provide for the common defense” of the American people. It is simple; it is called the Chain of Command. The President of The United States gets elected at large via the people of the United States. He is their representative and becomes what the military at large calls “The Commander in Chief”. This elected official also takes an oath to uphold the Constitution. Since he represents the people, he can instruct or order the military to do various functions. How does this relate to me? Since I am a member of the military, I fit into this great big Chain of Command. The Command in Chief basically relays orders to the next person under him and eventually, quoting Reagan “trickles down”, to me. When I get the order, I pass it down and the process goes on and on. I have shown the benefits the Constitution brings such as the defense and general welfare of the people and how I fit in as a future Army Officer. I have shown that by working as the hands of the Constitution, it is possible to defeat any enemy; foreign or domestic. I have also shown the parallels between the leadership the Constitution offers regarding the treatment of people. As an officer, I will have others that will depend upon me for their safety and welfare. I am looking forward to September 17th so that I can start my new Army career and can employ my convictions and leadership abilities to help protect this great nation and my fellow
