bounty-hunter (Robert Patrick), the contract killers and the cops. Diana is a very outgoing, obnoxious, clever, and sly character that has many tricks up her sleeve. She has many jokes in this movie that are very funny, though at times the jokes are a little inappropriate and not very funny. Sandy Patterson is a modern man who just wants to live a normal life as a business man. There are some jokes such as explaining "Sandy" is a unisex name that is used too much as if it will become funny at one point but never really breaks through.
Rick and Jake, though existing in two different realities, both are weak in the presence of their mysterious femme fatales. In he beginning of Casablanca, Humphrey Bogart plays Rick Blaine as a selfish, bitter American run-away, but by the end, Rick’s hard shell is peeled away to reveal a man who will sacrifice it all in the name of love and honor. Rick is a very standoffish from the start giving off a self-serving attitude. He makes his political neutrality known by not drinking with any customers revealing he “doesn’t stick his neck out for nobody.” Rick not only is uninterested, but he also wants nothing to do with the political dealings playing out around him. Outside of the cafe the world is uncertain, but Rick has created a sheltered atmosphere that emanates warmth and freedom.
Kenny is a very manipulative person and can make anyone feel down. When Kenny got shot, I felt no sympathy for him. Just because they didn’t
Jem Finch liked role playing games, where he pretended to be Nathan Radley. When he was playing this game his laughter was so loud it sounded as though it was a stand up comedy. Jem had the act down perfectly as a Radley. Jem also played racing games with his sister Scout, they would race to meet Atticus when he was walking home from work. All of these games are very average of any childhood.
That would explain how he never does any work throughout the movie, his outbursts of anger go relatively unnoticed, his own identity is consistently mistaken, and he gets away with all the murders (because they only happened in his head). The “movie watcher” reaction to this would probably use an older, more general term to diagnose Batemen as simply a socio-path. This
The first two characters that share similar qualities are Judge Pyncheon from The House of Seven Gables, and Mable’s uncle, Cap from The Pathfinder. Judge Pyncheon was the owner of the House, and simply called, “the Judge. He is the novel’s most visible antagonist, and is a living example of the cruelty and ambition that brought the Pyncheon family such misfortune. The most important feature he had, was his deceiving smile, which gave the reader a better understanding of how his personality was. The judge wanted everyone to think he was so innocent, but in fact, he was overwhelmingly selfish.
Juror#2 also was eliminated although he was a very positive character with an open mind, he did not have much confidence. The third juror was definitely out of the picture of becoming the leader because he bullied many of the members of the group, used a lot of offensive and abusive language, and did not take any of the other members’ thoughts into mind, he was very stubborn. Juror #4 was not leader material at all because he thought he was above everyone else and was very driven among facts. Juror #5 was a very interesting character although he did not have the characteristics for a leader, he was much to scared and not confident. Juror #6 seemed a bit on the slow side and very indecisive.
English – Stream of Consciousness 12/09/2012 Cherry - Monologue Lewis, ah Lewis. The first man since entering this disgusting place that’s actually cared about me. He cares, unlike the others, Zach and Henry are always too drugged to show emotion, Roy only holds feelings for himself and Doug... He’s just a cat burning tyrant! I..I hate him, I hate all of them, but not, not Lewis... Lewis cares. He’s not like the other guys, he won’t hurt me like they did, he wouldn’t put me here... Would he?
Ebony, you did a nice job on this Appendix. The material you presented was done in a concise and informative manner. Good work. I did notice you could have included more details to your paper overall. You provided some interesting facts though.
It connotes authority, basically telling us that a man with this name has the ability to rule a country greatly. The young prince is displayed at the beginning of the book as an addicted time waster for all the wrong things. This is shown in the quote, ‘His addiction was to courses vain’ The use of the word ‘addiction’ gives the sense that Henry not only liked his hobby (which was time wasting), but he was obsessed with it; he craved it. Craving is a negative action, as one can never get enough of an addiction, as they are insatiable. Furthermore, the phrase ‘courses vain’ illustrates that Henry was not even addicted to something beneficial or worthwhile for anybody.
