A lot of reasons that make Affirmative action really important in this society. 3. * He was admitted without difficulty to the Ivy League college *He received promotion and tenure in minimum time, more quickly than many of his female colleagues. *He did not to endure any painful experiences. 4. a. - He has not to endure “what-is-he-doing-here?” b. - He has not had to notice white women clutching their purses more tightly when they meet him walking along the street. c. - He has never seen the “for rent” or “for sale” signs figuratively snatched out the window as he walked up to the front door. 5. Because the decision makers knew him better, and he was part of the monthly poker group and played golf every Friday afternoon. 6. A “for rent” sign can be “figuratively snatched from a window” by cover it with another object for just moment or remove for a short like it was never there. 7. a. Because affirmative action is informal and indirect, we tend to forget or deny just how all-important and pervasive it really is. b. He had benefitted from affirmative action all is life. c. Affirmative action for some folks remains alive and well and unthreatened by court decisions. 8. Dave Malcolm was a white man, male, Anglo and protestant.
