Sometimes we are being pulled over by police officers not because we ran a red light, have broken taillights, speeding, or have narcotics on our vehicles; it is due to the fact that they can use their power over us. And all of us, regardless of economic status, or race, should scream to heaven when the police do not do their jobs equally for all citizens. Driving while black (dwb). Black drivers in America are more expected to: be stopped by the police; inquired to have their car examined; Have everybody in the car checked to tell if they are sought by the police. Some call it “driving while black or brown” because it affects Latinos also.
Additionally Shakur also stated that people should not let the police treat them unjustly Shakur believed that the police did not like to see Black People with nice material things; he felt it made them jealous and angry. He also believed that people should fight back against the police, even if it meant killing them. That was one reason he always had a firearm in his possession. Another reason Shakur carried a firearm is revenge; Shakur verbally elaborates about his fear of a past enemy seeing him in public and trying to kill him. As a final point, Shakur ended the song with the words “That’s the way it
If they don't approve of those people, they might harass them, steal from them, and even murder them. Hate crimes are always intentional it seems like, hate crimes may physically wound and may effectively intimidate other members of the victim's family or even community, leaving them feeling terrorized, isolated, vulnerable, and unprotected by the law. That is why the necessity for hate crime laws needs to be updated and improved to protect the people that have been affected by these terrible crimes. We cannot ban
Every race has people that are discriminatory and this includes groups lime the black panthers other African supremacy groups are just as guilty in the category if racist groups as the KKK. The problem with hate groups are that they skew views people have about other races causing them to themselves become racist subconsciously. Studies have taken place at Stanford university as well as the university at California berkley that have studied racism and subconscious racism are still a very prominent aspect of humanity. Part of the problem in the unsuccessful attempts to kill racism is that there are people who don't admit that it's real anymore. Acceptance is a viable part if repentance.
In many cases, police have taken advantage of the power they have and used it to hurt the people that they are supposed to protect. I understand that police officers can use force against the common people if they have a strong reason to do so. For instance, a police officer can use force (as in the use of taser gun or K9‘s) when they see that the suspect has a dangerous object which can put people or the officers at risk. Police brutality results in innocent people suffering crucial consequences for the mistakes that police officers make. In March 2009, The National Misconduct Statistics and Reporting Project (NPMSRP) started recording police misconducts.
However, it is important for law enforcement to follow guidelines and regulations such as civil rights. This would include not singling out a person due to their race and gender without having reasonable suspicion. Yet, some studies state that “when race is combined with other key identifying characteristics of criminal involvement, profiling is a sensible and useful technique in which police employ the laws of probability to make the best use of their scarce resources in attacking crime” ("Writing For Students", 2010). Criminologists and sociologists agree that men are much more likely to commit
As United States citizens, we generally want to show that we believe in equality and don’t judge by race. However, there are still people in the United States that segregate, discriminate, and completely hate people who aren’t their own race. But, there are cases where racial profiling has been correct, and help apprehend a criminal. In any case, my opinion is that racial profiling is O.K to an extent. I believe that people should be treated equally so in that case, we shouldn’t be afraid to judge certain people like crime suspects because of color, and that we shouldn’t defend people because of color too.
These people that label their selves as “nigga” but if a person who is not of color is to use it we are racist. Isn’t that a double standard? How is it ok for you to say it but we are not allowed without being called a word that a lot of people overlook….Racism will always exist until people of color stop killing each other. I read an article called “salute to all gangbangers” written by a black man about black on black crime. Everyone in the south was in an uproar because they thought the KKK had written it.
The Urban Ecology and Factors that correlates with bias crimes attack A major concern with many researchers on bias crime is the measurement of the behavior itself. Bias crimes, are so often called hate crimes, and are committed against one’s person or property. It is also said that hate crimes are not “because of the perpetrators person al animosity towards individual, but because of that victim’s actual or perceived membership in a particular group” (Weisburd). Meaning, bias crimes are so often committed towards people in a particular group, or social class. The weakness that many researchers fail to point out was the motive for an individual to commit bias assaults and above all the correlation with society.
By being stereotypical we are pretty much condemning a race of people by saying oh he is white so he committed this crime or he is black so he is probably going to commit this crime. That right there shows the mind sets of our society which to me seems to be a really negative outlook on the world. One thing I learned from by doing this research paper is that in fact white people make the majority of the population that actually commits the crimes, I find it really pathetic that people are always so oblivious to that and are always the first ones to discriminate against another race for committing a crime that anyone could possible commit. I hope that one day that the word race will not be associated with criminal activity, it may sound like a impossible goal but I believe one day it will indeed
