The Call of the Wild by Jack London From a domestic animal to an invincible beast and loyal leader “The Call of the Wild” is a novella written by the American author Jack London published in 1903.John Griffith "Jack" London (born John Griffith Chaney,January 12, 1876 – November 22,1916)was an American author, journalist, and social activist. He was a pioneer in the then-burgeoning world of commercial magazine fiction and was one of the first fiction writers to obtain worldwide celebrity and a large fortune from his fiction alone.He is best remembered as the author of ”Call of the Wild” and “White fang”, both set in the Klondike Gold Rush, as well as the short stories “To Build a Fire”,”An Odyssey of the North", and "Love of Life". “The Call of the Wild” is a story of a dog,named Buck and reveals the way he becomes from a civilized dog to a mighty,invincible beast and leader,learning fast from the harsh lessons of the reality,trying to adjust to its unfair and mean rules.In spite of the whole friendliness and conscientiousness that he has obtained from his previous way of living,Buck is forced to uncover his wild and predatory character and to oppose to everyone and everything that stays in his way.
