Worldwide, it’s the most common cause of death from a gynecologic cancer. Nearly half of all women diagnosed with cervical cancer are diagnosed at a late stage, with either locally or regionally advanced disease that’s harder to treat. (Shinn, 2004, p. 36) There are two types of cervical cancer. The first is squamous cell, which accounts for an outstanding 80-90% of all cervical cancer cases.
In my opinion, a disease that can be controlled by just keeping yourself healthy, should not be a leading cause of death. Unfortunately, cancer is becoming more common in the United states. According to cancer.gov, breast cancer is the most common type of cancer with about 235,000 new cases expected in the United states in 2014. This is shocking to me that in just one year, that many cases of just one type of cancer can be found. Chronic lower respiratory diseases are the third leading causes of death.

Too much iodine in ones diet can trigger autoimmune thyroid disease and hypothyroidism. This disease means that the excessive amount of iodine in the bodies system can worsen the infilration of the thyroid by lymphocytes.
