1.3 Explain how standards inform reflective practice in adult social care Standards inform reflective practice because they impact on how I work. I have to be fully aware of them and understand the imprecation’s of not working towards them. Working people constantly rely on high-calorie fast foods for lunch breaks or as a quick substitute for a meal for themselves and even the family. Whole Foods found a solution for their problems, through already prepared food. Their, “Whole Kitchen™, Whole Pantry™,” has already prepared meals from entrees, to appetizers, to desserts that are quick meal solutions. With the same quality as any of their other foods they allow for each customer to pick and choose a meal that is delicious with little to no time involved. If you find you have little time in the market but more time to cook the meals, monthly broachers put out by the company offer simple recipes that include all the ingredients and cooking or baking instructions.
Equality is about everybody being equal to one another, but not necessarily treating them all the same. Because everyones needs are different you as a support worker have to look at the individuals needs, and assess what you can do to improve their quality of life, whilst keeping them safe and still promoting independence. Inclusion is about involving everyone in society, making sure all have opportunities to work or take part in social activities available. Discrimination is stopping someone from their right to speak up and voice themselves properly or not let them do an activity, this can happen to either a certain group of people or it can just be one person. Nonetheless its a very cruel way of practice.
“Conflict brings out the best as well as the worst in humanity.”! Conflict is an integral part of being human in everyday life and we as individuals have to find ways to cope with conflict in order to survive. Individuals encounter conflict in a variety of forms and situations and how individuals respond is uniquely different due to individuality and morals of when thrown into an alien situation. In times of conflict, ordinary people are affected both directly and indirectly. Faced with situations that force change, many individuals explore a side to themselves that they didn’t know existed prior to the conflict.
Lack of clarity of purpose can be a risk and a legal issue leading to disputes. The major legal principle here is that, companies should always endeavor to clarify and understand each and every clause of the contract so that they know what they are committing themselves too. It lessens on the misery caused during times of disputes. No matter how easy and simple it may appear during the contract signing process, it becomes totally complicated to understand and agree upon a common interpretation of ambiguous clauses when disputes come up. For instance, in the simulation given, there were ambiguous clauses like “ordinary requirements change” which became a source of conflict because the software user and system requirements changed over time which were had to just incorporate into the contract because of the big effect they had on the project costs and
Family like culture, and resistant to change: should have capacity to change, family like culture does not fit future growth. ii) Diagnose the problem(s) by examining if the problem(s) is due to the lack of fit of the organization structure with the contextual variables or due to process-related causes or both. (This link is important – the idea is to see if the lack of fit (if the fit is not there) is causing some of those problems). Part 4: Problem Solution i) Identify alternative solutions. Structure matrix: since they have many products to develop.
Alternatively their culture may require certain behaviours which we find strange. Also many individuals we support have a different set of values from our own, this doesn’t mean to say that you are right and they are wrong. We need to understand and value everyone regardless of differences. There is nothing wrong with having your own beliefs and values – everyone has them they are a vital part of making us the person we are. But we must be aware of them and hoe they may affect what you do at work.

Often we react quickly to emotionally charged words or subjects. Internally we think of ways to respond to the speaker and argue our position. In this process we often quit listening to what is being said. We make judgments and respond to those judgments as if the speaker’s position were accurately known to us. Criticisms from supervisors and peers often are met with emotional listening resistance.
You get rushed and preoccupied, and you stop taking the perspective of the other person, precisely because the two of you are so close.” Being rushed and not going in depth in conversations and only making short statements is a key in miscommunication. “Communication is complex; it requires a number of skills and both ongoing learning and practice to improve our skills. Misunderstandings occur frequently, and they can cause problems in relationships.” (Sole, 2011). Having my husband not understand what I mean by such a short statement is something that I expect since he is my husband.
