The Bachelor Party Over a year ago I heard the news that my brother Michael had proposed to his first and only girlfriend Kait. This news should have been surprising considering that they are only both twenty one years old but it is easy to see that they are madly in love. When asked where they wanted to have the wedding there was no hesitation for my brother to announce that they wanted to have it in Seeley Lake Montana, near our families summer cabin where they first fell in love, my brothers favorite place. They were also set on the date of the fourth of July. After months of planning it was finally the first of July, the day I was to fly up and begin helping with the preparation. The flight is only a couple hours but with a hefty layover I had a significant amount of time to think about the soon to be newlywed couple, how they met, and their future together. Mike and Kait have known each other since they were in diapers. Since my mother was fairly good friends with Kait's mom, the toddlers got plenty of playtime in together but as they got older the interaction died down and they went their separate ways. When my brother changed schools to Pacific Union College Elementary school in fifth grade he was reunited with Kait. Through his years “P.U.C.E.”, as the Angwin locals call it, I constantly heard Mikes friends give him a hard time about his crush on Kait. My brother was too nervous to ask Kait out in elementary school and once again they lost connection. In the summer of his junior year of high school, fate brought the two back together when my mother invited Kait’s family to our cabin in Montana, where they became close and scheduled their first date. Upon arrival at our family cabin I was shocked; the cabin had recently been remodeled and was nicer than our permanent residence.
