My Opinion on the Audio - Lingual Method In my opinion this method is good if you want to learn a new language, because the majority of the drills it uses are easy and practical to reproduce. Repetition is key if you want to learn any new language and it creates like a pattern in your mind after a while and reproducing it all the time. Some advantages I find in the Audio - Lingual Method is that repetition helps the students understand how words should be pronounced in the correct way and how they should sound when you speak them. Also mimicry is very important in this method because the student has to learn how to mimic their teacher in this case they have the advantage that the 'native speaker" which is a person who naturally speaks the language will correct them and the student has a better chance to understand the language and to speak the language as fluently as possible. The disadvantages I find in this method is that people would probably learn how to speak the language but they will not have the ability to read and especially write in the target language, because the main focus of the Audio - Lingual Method is listening and speaking but not reading and writing, you don't get to perfect the entire package and that is a huge down fall for me, because I think that people should learn how to speak fluently but also know how to write fluently. The activities used in this method are easy to understand and to reproduce, but after a while they start to feel very boring and the student can probably start to lose interest in the class and the purpose will not be achieved. This method has its advantages but also, its disadvantages it all depends in trying and giving our best and try different drills to see if they are useful for our advantage or
