The Art of War written by General Sun Tzu translated in 2002. The Art of War is a detailed guide of how his military should be positioned during the time of war. General Tzu wrote The Art of War with the intent that strategy was not planning and working through a checklist, but actually strategy requires fast responses to continually changing conditions and and a constantly updated environment. General Tzu saw that traditional planning only works in a controlled environment. The environment we live in continually changes; unexpected situations, decisions and plans are always being altered with each new situation. Changing situations require a quick response, such as what General Tzu outlined. Similar situations are approached in How to Win Friends and Influence People. How to Win Friends and Influence People is a self help book written by Dale Carnegie. Its original copy was published in 1936 and has had over 10 million copies sold. This book was written as a self help book for people from all walks of life, but in particular, professionals. Carnegie desired the book to be a tool for these professionals that allowed them to become more successful because they had better people skills. Carnegie targeted the book to people with low people skills so that they would be able to improve and become better professionals within the business world.
