In Lybia, there have been a lot of outrage over the anti-Islamic videos. The videos have led to the killing of many innocent people and even the killing of some officials. The violence started when the film, which was produced by a Nakoula Basseley Nakoula in southern California. Nakoula was influenced by Zakaria Botros Henein, a radical anti-Islamic cleric. Nakoula, who went under the name Sam Bacile, had just gotten out of prison for check fraud. He was released early on probation when he started producing the film. When the film was released in Hollywood, almost no one watched it. After that, a 14 minute trailer of the film was uploaded on YouTube. After that, the link was sent to Egyptian officials and then was released to the media in Egypt.
After the media was released in Egypt, some violent protests started in the Muslim nations. On the anniversary of 9/11 was when many of the protests started. During the protests, many U.S. citizens were killed. Some of those people included a U.S. ambassador named Chris Stevens and three more U.S. embassy people were killed due to the riots in Libya.
The U.S. economy was impacted by the protests in Libya. The U.S. Embassy released a statement saying that they did not know whether or not they were going to invest in Egypt since a lot of trade goes on between the United States and Egypt. Also, they said that they were unsure if they were going to aid Egypt because the riots have damaged a lot of places including homes and stores. Also, since Egypt annually receives $1.3 million in military aid, they do not know whether or not they are going to fund the whole sum to them since they are harming the United States. A lot of people are rethinking their investments to Egypt after the protests.
