Texting and Driving Almost sixty-five percent of teens passengers death occur while another adolescent was texting and driving. Teens nor adults should text and drive. Minors who text and drive are not only putting themselves at risk but also other drivers. More laws should be made about texting and driving so that it can come to a stop. A dangerous and terrible habit American drivers have developed.Texting while driving is becoming more popular. More and more states are making laws to ban this treacherous act. Unfortunately, too many people have become use to checking their emails or sending texts while behind the wheel. Studies have shown that texting while behind the wheel could be as dangerous as drinking and driving. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported in 2008 that driver distraction was the cause of 16 percent of all fatal crashes. 5,800 people killed and 21 percent of crashes resulting in an injury. 515,000 were wounded because of distracted driving. Drivers who are distracted by texting endanger others safety and life. Texting and driving has increased steadily. Most kids watch their parents text and drive and pick up on their habits. Parents should set good explains by not texting and driving and just waiting till you come to a stop or don't check their messages at all. Sticking to principles of not texting or checking your email would decrease the number of crashes significantly. Not only should teens learn in school not to text and drive but also go out into the world and practice not texting and driving. No text or email is worth putting your life in risk.
