INTRODUCTION The term Terracotta Hollow Bricks is an alternative to the common bricks used in construction. Its used to refer to items made out of baked clay which gives it natural, brownish orange color, that varies considerably. Its unique ability to control the temperature of the atmosphere to a pleasurable level has made it the hot choice of most of modern architects who build in the cities. Its cool touch on the wall and floor inspires your soul and keeps it calm and contented. The products are widely used in construction activity. These blocks have more tensile strength, the walls constructed from these blocks act as thermal insulaters because of their hollowness. These Hollow and Solid Building Blocks are three times stronger than conventional bricks with consistent strength. The colour and finish of the block is that of the clay itself with no applied surface coating. Colours are typically earthy, e.g. red, buff, tawny, grey, etc. The many advantages possessed by terra-cotta have caused it to become one of the most important building materials of the present day. Terra-cotta lends itself well to all kinds of plain or decorated work both for the external and internal parts of a building.. Moreover, terra-cotta is strong, and easily moulded or modelled to all shapes. For building purposes terra-cotta is made into hollow blocks with shells about 2 inches thick, these shells being stiffened when the blocks are large by means of webs to prevent them from warping or twisting when fired in the kiln. USES • Clay hollow blocks for roof slab construction, walls and partitions are now fast replacing monolithic concrete forms. While using it outdoors, it’s natural Terracotta is a porous substance which absorbs water and hence is suitable for indoor use, look blends beautifully with the surrounding landscapes. Architects
