Tennis Population Distrubution

Why is the global distribution of top tennis players uneven? There are many factors that affect how many top male tennis players come from each country. Money is a major factor. If someone barely has enough money to buy enough food to survive, they are unlikely to be able to spend hours of playing leisurely sport, or be able afford coaches or equipment. It is more likely that they will spend what little time they have. The actual country itself will need surplus income to fund the building of sports facilities and to promote the sport to people. I don’t think that the population plays a huge role, however the more people you have in your country the more likely it is that you will get a tennis pro. Once a country gets one or two good players, many children will begin to see them as their idols and therefore have a motive to start playing tennis themselves at a very young age, also having a successful player from your country also helps to promote the sport, which could play more of a role in a poorer. Another factor that will likely effect the outcome is the opportunity to play tennis in that country. If a lot of the country is snow and ice (e.g. Iceland, Canada) then there won’t be anywhere to build the courts. If a lot of the country is desert or plains etc. then the same thing will happen. Also tennis is more of an outdoor summer sport, so if there is places to build the courts, but it is a epically hot climate, like Africa’s, then chances are that people won’t want to go and spend hours running around outside. Also in places like Mexico, where it gets so hot that they take breaks during the day to sleep through the hottest part of the day, then it could be likely that the people there are more lethargic and don’t want to play tennis. Also, countries with a high population density like China, and in particular the smaller countries won’t have so much
