Michael Vick began playing college football at Virginia Tech in 1998. He led the Hokies to the National Championship Game against Florida State in 1999 and finished his college career with an amazing 20-1 record as a starter. His outstanding speed, arm strength, and ability to elude tackles led the Atlanta Falcons to pick him first overall in the 2001 NFL draft. Vick's reward for turning pro was a six-year, $62 million contract that included a $15 million signing bonus. Vick made his NFL debut at San Francisco on September 9, 2001 and saw limited action.
On December 24, 2011 the Jets took on the Giants for a rival of the fittest. This game ultimately lit the road to the Super Bowl. At this point in the season, both teams needed the win (Marcus, 48). Jets’ fans sat happily as the Jets were winning at the approach of the second half. It was 3rd and ten at the Jets one yard line and looked promising.
Second, he possessed an astonishing intuition that resulted in long gains or touchdowns, when other quarterbacks would have been sacked. And third, he was a calm leader and an inspiration to everyone around him for more than a decade, (Montana, & Mitchell, 2006). Joe Montana would become the greatest NFL regular season and Super Bowl quarterback ever or at least to date; Joe’s climb to the top of the NFL was not ominous. Joe was not drafted by the 49ers until the third round in 1979, unlike most super star quarterbacks, that almost always go immediately in the first round draft. Joe Montana shined during his high school athletic career, but had to earn every spot he played after that, (Montana, & Mitchell,
RG3 threw for 3,200 yards with an average of 8.14 yards per pass. RG3 threw 20 touchdowns, only 5 interceptions and fumbled the football 3 times. RG3’s performance resulted in an impressive 102.4 quarterback rating. All in all RG3 had a better rookie debut but don’t count Andrew Luck out he did throw for an impressive 4,374 yards. Another upside in Andrew Luck’s favor was that he did not get injured.
This man was named Bill Parcells. Bill Parcells started with a team whom before him has back to back to back 5 – 11 records. He then in his very first season went 10 – 6 and went to the playoffs. Followed by a 6 – 10 and a 9 – 7 without a playoff appearance then in his last season a 9 -7 record but went to the playoffs They were expected to win the Super Bowl the year before this year but, Tony Romo fumbled the ball while trying to set it down for the kicker to kick for the lead with merely a few minutes left on the clock. He tried to pick up the ball and run it in the end zone for pretty much the win but was inches short from the first down and a yard away from the end zone when he was stopped by the linebacker from the Seattle Seahawks, who ended up with the Lombardi Trophy as the National Football League (NFL) champions.
Before the Arrow nation realized, the clock was winding down and the shutout had turned into a nail biter. With the score now tied at thirteen and the Cougars driving late in the fourth quarter, the Arrows were in desperate need of a big play. Their prayers were answered when with under a minute to go the ball hit the ground, only to be pounced on by the strong safety from Tecumseh. The crowd erupted in a simultaneous roar. After trailing the entire game, the ball was finally in their court, but with minimal time on the clock.
Joe Montana: Simply the Best Joe Montana, the comeback kid. Many believe he is the best to play the game, other will argue differently, but there is no argument in saying he is ONE of the best QB's to play the game. Joe Montana was the quarterback who made the 49ers. He ran the Bill Walsh offense to near perfection. I have made this page in honor of the greatest (in my opinion) QB of all time, who lead his team to 4 Super Bowl Championships and boasts 3 Super Bowl MVP's.
Coach K at last led Duke to victory in 1991, winning their first national championship. Once again in the year 1992, Duke won the national title, and maintained the national number one ranking throughout the season, this time by 20 points. Mike Krzyzewski is the only coach since John Wooden to win two consecutive NCAA championships. Once again the Duke team made it to the championship in 1994, losing by only 4 points to Arkansas. Shortly after the tournament, Coach K. was forced to take a ten-month break from coaching because he underwent back surgery, but he returned to lead the Blue Devils into three more NCAA tournaments in 1996, '97 and '99.
The game itself wasn’t all that great, they two teams combined a total of 11 turnovers. The colts had 7 of the 11 turnovers. http://www.pfufa.org/images/superbowl/lg05.jpg Jim O’Brien the Colts kicker and receiver kicked a game winning 32 yard field goal in the last quarter with only 5 seconds left. O’Brien said “I concentrated very, very, very, hard, probably the hardest I have ever concentrated on a kick. It all happened so fast and all of the sudden it was over.
Reid Lundeen Miss Streza English III September 19, 2013 David vs. Goliath On September 12th, 2013, Dana Hills Football had one of the best performances in the history of the school. The game was held at Dana Hills, against its hated rival, San Clemente. Dana Hills (0-2) on the season heads in to this game thinking, if they do not get a victory in this contest, their season could be downhill from here. Meanwhile, on the other side of the spectrum is San Clemente. San Clemente (2-0) on the season comes in to this game with a lot of emotion.
