MLA Persuasive Paper Should teenage girls be allowed to get birth control without parents consent? In my opinion, I think teenage girls should be able to get birth control without their parents knowing simply because some parents wouldn’t allow it. Another reason a young girl should be allowed to access birth control without their parents’ permission is because if parents are involved, some teens will not seek the treatment needed. Also if a teen was to ask a parent to help them get birth control, some parents might automatically jump to conclusions and assume their child is having sex. Teenage girls should be able to get birth control without their parents knowing because some parents wouldn’t allow it.
Melissa Capristo Mr. Baumgartner English 10 Honors 2 December 2012 Pro-Choice How would you feel if someone controlled what you did to your own body? I feel that by not making abortion legal you are controlling someone’s rights to their own body. Many women that want to have an abortion have emotional and personal reasons behind it. Some women choose to have their babies even though they didn’t want to but I believe that those kids have a high chance of growing up feeling unloved by their mother. I believe that every single person that is born into this world should have the rights to their own body.
Dear Sara, I know that you are pretty clueless about being pregnant, as this is your first time, and maybe excited and nervous all at the same time. I am writing this to let you know a little bit about what you can expect during your pregnancy, what your little one will be going through, and what you can do to assist in having a healthy newborn. First I would suggest that you quit smoking. Nicotine is a teratogen, a substance that crosses the placenta and harms the baby; smoking during pregnancy can cause many learning and behavior problems, as well as delivering a premature or under weight baby. Other teratogens include drugs, alcohol, infections, and some medications.
Her decision to have an abortion is a difficult and personal one to make. Like many Americans, Samantha has never agreed with the practice of abortion. However, after much deliberation, Samantha has come to the conclusion to have an abortion; it would only make life more difficult if the baby was to be born. Revoking a woman’s right to have an abortion would be unconstitutional because this right is protected under the ninth and fourteenth amendments. The ninth amendment enforces implied rights, which are rights not directly stated in the Constitution, but can be interpreted as such.
Some think that as soon as a woman finds out she will be a mother, that she should have no problem quitting drinking. It’s just as hard for them to quit, as it is for someone who is not pregnant. For most mothers admitting to this can be a humiliating experience. Currently, physicians rely heavily on history-taking to screen for women at high risk of alcohol consumption during pregnancies (Cook). However, these screenings are not enough since patients are reluctant to admit the amount of alcohol they consume and physicians are reluctant to talk about it with patients (Burd).
In rape cases women who decide to go through the pregnancy suffer severe psychological and emotional disturbances towards themselves and the child. Adoption is sometimes the safer choice for the woman who may not be able to survive a
There are many cases in which people can argue that a woman became pregnant due to rape and whether or not abortion should be legal. If a woman is raped and becomes pregnant, she does not need to keep the child, but carry through with the pregnancy and put the child up for adoption. There are families that are unable to have children. Those that are able to have children, but not have ways and means to love and nurture the child should make it available for the child to have a home with parents that want a child. Although the options are not endless, there are many things that can be done.
Many children who do not have FAS or FAE, but who were exposed to alcohol prenataly - can still suffer from one or more symptoms of FAS. We also can bring evidence that mothers who were drinking during pregnancy may find behavioural and socio-emotional problems in their children(not only in childhood)(O’Connor, M.J., 2001.). One of many dangers of alcohol consumption during pregnancy is spontaneous abortion risk (highest risk is in 1st trimester), we looked at Kesmodel et al. (2002) study and his look on previous studies - to support this statement. However there are some inconsistencies with this area of research.
More and more teens are becoming pregnant when living the “party life.” It increases the chances of forgetting to use protection during intercourse. This can lead to unwanted pregnancy and an increase of abortion rates or unwanted pregnancies. It is a sad life for kids who are born into a world and left to a foster home or an adoption agency. There are many teens that just simply can’t afford to keep their child, so they just put them up for adoption. Adoption is not a bad thing, but there are plenty of kids in the world already, and we don’t need teens producing more.
Abortion Kourtni Birgy English 111 Argumentative Essay Abortion: Pro-life or Pro-choice? Today, abortion is a big issue concerning women because for years it has been said that abortion should not be legal. Many people feel aborting an unwanted child, or killing an unwanted child should be against the law. I feel that even though it is the woman’s body, she is carrying another body inside of her. It is not her own life that she is taking.
