With reference to relevant research evidence, discuss the potential effects of alcohol consumption on pre-natal development. Drinking during pregnancy may have devastating lifetime consequences on child's health and development. Any alcohol consumed during pregnancy will soon reach the baby through the placenta and may cause harm. Foetus is very vulnerable to alcohol during the whole nine months of pregnancy with greater risks during the first trimester. Many mothers do not know that they are pregnant during the 1 trimester, and they may drink heavily.
Many teenage mothers find strength in their motherhood role but this does not come without cost to themselves or their children, as many teenagers are considered unsuitable to be parents and do not have the right support (B.). For this paper I have conducted two interviews and I have also done research on why it is harder to be a single mother as a teenager. Due to the financial, emotional and physical struggles that teenage single mother have, it is more difficult for them to raise children than single mothers who are older. Some ideas and theories in science meet with resistance. One of the examples when an idea is meeting with the resistance is immunization. More often children immunization meets with public resistance. As the vaccination of children is parents' decision many decides not to do it. Data published by NHS show that there is high number of measles reported due to 1-16 years old children who missed the vaccinations between 1990s and 2000s.
Pregnant Teenagers as a Vulnerable Population At risk mothers and infants-of-concern have been considered a vulnerable population since teen pregnancy was identified as a pandemic in the 1990s. These teenage mothers are at risk for pregnancy complications, low birth weight babies, and increased rates of infant mortality. However, the more ominous risk is that of poverty and the associated vulnerabilities that accompany living below the poverty level. The paper will discuss the demographic data regarding teen pregnancy, the social stigma attached to teen pregnancy and the economic impact to the teen and to society. A case study is examined to illustrate possible approaches to care and personal reflections of the author will be shared regarding issues of teenage pregnancy.

This can lead to unwanted pregnancy and an increase of abortion rates or unwanted pregnancies. It is a sad life for kids who are born into a world and left to a foster home or an adoption agency. TO me this was more of the cause and effect of the babies being pre mature. However I did notice that many of the ladies that they were mentioning that were having the pre mature babies were very young. With this I think that two factors that are present in this video that can increase the mothers and babies vulnerability are age and education.
