Teen Tech Addicts The article presents a valid argument that the technology available to teenagers now is distracting them from what they need to get done such as; school work, household chores, and extracurricular activities. One can be addicted to technology by either interacting with technology over any other activity or multitasking with multiple technological devices. Being addicted to technology is usually a bad thing, but in some cases someone can bring good out of this like Vishal. Others that multitask while doing activities, such as homework, will not retain the information or complete the task nearly as fast and with as much focus. Vishal was called a very bright student by many of his teachers. However, he was addicted to his technological devices. He had to make the decision every night to either pursue his passion of filmmaking or to do his homework. Most of the time he chose to edit, revise, or shoot a film instead of doing his homework that was due the next morning. He found his passion through his addiction to filmmaking, but it came at a price of making poor grades in school. In other situations students are multi-tasking with technology because of their addiction. While doing homework or writing an essay the students are being distracted by listening to music, texting, and watching television. In my personal experience with this I also get very distracted and sidetracked and cannot keep focused on what I’m supposed to be doing. I end up forgetting I have homework and not coming back to it later that night or the next morning to finish it. I think that it is a good idea for schools to try and implement technology into their curriculums. As a student, I feel more motivated to interact with the class and teachers when technology is involved. I think that I am able to learn more and even stay awake better. I think that it is also a
