Outline: Topic: Teen Suicide Question: What are the causes of teen suicide? (Narrowed): What are the most common causes of teen suicide? Thesis: There are many different causes of teen suicide, but there are multiple factors combined to cause a teen to end his or her life. Due to combination of hormonal changes and influences from his or her surroundings, teens get depressed. Depression is the reason for suicide among 75% of teenagers. Female teens think about and attempt suicide twice as often as male teens; however males are four times more likely to die from suicide because of their lack of fear. Most likely, home and school related issues are the major causes of self-inflicted death. Introduction: Causes of teen suicide could be hard to define because the lack of actual facts. For example, there are many thoughts on why people would but in most cases no actual evidence. Occasionally there is suicide letters left or assumptions on why the teen has decided to commit suicide but mainly the causes are based off of assumptions personal evidence based on things happening in the person’s life around the time of the suicide. Some ethnic groups are thought to be at a higher risk d. Victims of bullying are likely to commit suicide III. Signs a. Teen isolation is a sign of suicide b.
