It can be the source of new development, the solution to practical problems, the reason and potential solutions for emerging problems and as an instrument or point of analysis to evaluate various aspects and institutions of life. As the world crossed the twentieth century and as it continues to move forward in the new millennium, it would be safe to say that many transformations have been the result of a complex dynamism where technology is one substantial component. In the first half of the 1900s, mankind was challenged by two consecutive World Wars that constructed and reconstructed technological breakthroughs, especially in warfare. During the latter half of the last century, scientific innovations continued to push the limits of human domain and experience through space explorations and development of new sustainable sources of energy, to name a few. In the new century, many changes in technology, including the proliferation of the Internet, continues to take its course. It should be noted, however, that these and other technological changes have been precursors to changes that implicated many institutions and areas of life. Technological changes have been able to transform modern and post-modern period by changing or at least influencing people’s way of living; shaping political decisions; changing trends in economies and markets; and re-shaping the concept and meaning of culture.
