This spread literacy very quickly. For example, the map of the world before the printing press demonstrated how it was originally thought that all the continents were connected as one (Doc. 7). Once the world was explored and charted more accurately, a new map was drawn. This spread the knowledge of the world a lot quicker.
However, it is extremely easy to make a website these days, anyone can make one. With anyone making there own website could mean that it might just be there own personal opinion and less research. Things are more difficult to believe now especially on the Internet. Just because you find something online doesn’t mean its true, and you should always make sure a website is legit and credible. There are many ways for you to be aware if a website is valid.
The footage showed that the certain walking skipping techniques you see in the Apollo 11 footage were actually the most efficient way to move around in the moons gravity. Another conspiracy that viewers had was about 2 of the photos taken during the Apollo 11 mission, one of them being about the topography and light sources. On one of the photos you can see that the shadows of the space module and some of the lunar rocks on the moon’s surface have different directions. Conspiracy theorists say that you can’t have 2 different angled shadows from the same light source. The myth busters put this it the test buy building a model of the moon’s surface and used shifted the topography so that it showed to perpendicular shadows from the same light source.
Now it is very simple, in a few minutes typing on the keyboard we will get what we need. Therefore, we would not feel the value of what we looked for, because we did not put in any effort, and usually we will forget the information. On the other hand, if we put an effort in while looking for the information, it will stick in our mind and the portion that is forgotten is less. People became addicted to Google; when they need to look for something, the first idea in their mind is Google. However, Google has a huge amount of information and much of it could be wrong.
Also Technology has offered us so many advantages to finding, buying, downloading, and reading books anytime, and anywhere. “Book” devices such as the nook, the kindle, and the i-pod offer us downloading sites for books at cheap prices so if a student can not find the specific book they are looking for they can simply go onto their device and download the book for a cheap price. The American Library Association has proven book banning has gone down at a very high percent since the release of the kindle in 2007. So then, my question is “why go through all that trouble to ban a book from a public library when you can simply just download it from the internet?” School boards should not have the ability to ban or
Without out even taking the time to think about what you’re not understanding. You could have probably gotten the answer if you just sat down and thought about the subject material. But google is so tempting because it has all the answers and it’s so easy to use. When you first go to the internet you most likely will be taken to google. You can access google through your computer, laptop, Cell Phone even IPod.
Some of the common use of World Wide Web is to gain knowledge in research. When students are doing their home works, instead of going to the library and spending a little more time, they just need to go in front of the computer and search for the topic that they are researching on. Using the internet as a learning resource is somehow more efficient than books when it comes to time. But when it comes to reliability, books are still the best options for us to research since anybody can write, edit, and publish an article on the Web. Internet helped us to communicate with the ones we loved especially those who are far from us.
The context of the text is also more appealing to me: talking about the positive and good things about social media rather than scaremongering and causing dread in just the simple use of them. I also prefer the basic white background with black text rather than the colourful background because it’s a bit distracting and it doesn’t add anything to the text itself. Also the text in the leaflet seems to be comprised mainly of facts and statistics which do not appeal to me nor do they sway my current opinion of social networking as a whole. The leaflet being in leaflet form however is the biggest reason that it doesn’t appeal me. If it were in a form of a website it could perhaps be more enticing and more appealing to me, but alas it is not.
It has become more convenient to open a search engine than to visit a library or bookstore. With access to a computer and an internet connection, the knowledge of the world is just a click away. There are not many topics that one could not find information on, especially on Wikipedia. Technology changed the way people find the information they are looking for and, unfortunately, it might not be for the best. Works Cited Berkman, Fran.
In addition, I don’t have to waste expensive gas just to find the closest bill paying location. You can practically pay any bill online as long as the billing company has a website. The internet has made many things possible and easier for Hereford residents. We are able to shop, pay bills, and keep in touch with friends and family online. It is one of the best things that have been brought to this town.
