Our technological world has come a long way. From pioneers to cowboys to geeks, they are all there because of the innovations that were made in their century. These eras not only bring different types of people, but different types of technology. The 21st century has, to this day, brought the most advancement to our lives. It has brought scientific, productivity tools, and communication improvements.
Scientists have not stayed behind since the great invention of the x-ray. A few important inventions have been made, like the artificial heart. In a timeline found in About.com, it said this little device was invented in 2001 for patients that had heart problems (Mary Bellis). It would now be possible for humans to have their hearts taken out and replaced with artificial hearts in order to live. The artificial liver was also invented the same year. The liver is an important organ in the human system that filters the liquids that people intake. These artificial organs have given people the opportunity to live longer. To make these kinds of operations, telerobotics are now used. Telerobotics for surgery was first used in the beginning of the 21st century. Telerobotics are machines that are controlled by human beings. Using them provides much more precision and accuracy for any type of surgery and produces fewer accidents. A new scientific was created. Biotechnology is a field of applied biology, which that involves the use of living organisms and bioprocesses in engineering, technology, medicine and other fields requiring bioproducts (Wikipedia Contributors). We would be able to choose the eye color of our children, the color of their hair, their height, and to some extent the pigmentation of their skin. This would involve having total control of their biology.
Not only have scientists updated their techniques and uses, but techies have as well. Techies are people that have a passion for technology. The software and hardware,...
