English 101 Professor Addi 20 September 2011 Descriptive Essay It was Friday night there was snow on the ground. I grabbed my hockey bag out of the back of my Jeep and stared walking towards Eddie Egger ice arena. We had a playoff game against Catholic Central the state champs for the past four years. When I opened the door to the arena I could smell the wet rubber floors and hear the sound of the skate sharpener. There were people walking around everywhere. My pulse started racing immediately as I headed towards my teams locker room. I opened the door and there was the rest of the Stevenson Spartans. They all gave me a nod and a few high fives. They were peppering our goalie with shots from everywhere. We could not get the puck out of our end of the ice and they struck quick 4-2. Next thing you knew it was 4-3. Their crowd was getting louder and you could tell they were getting more and more confident as a team. With eight minutes left in the game they tied it up making it 4-4, our team was in disbelief. We took a timeout to regroup ourselves. I was thinking how the heck did we just blow a 4-1 lead that quickly. We came out of the time out aggressively and sloppy with the puck. With in a few more minutes Catholic Central made it 5-4 and we were now losing. With 2 minutes left in the game I was thinking we need a miracle to score again. Moments later the referee called a tripping penalty on Catholic Central and we went on the power play. With a five to four man advantage with less than two minutes left we worked the puck around in their zone passing back and forth until we had a clear shot. Then bam a one timer from the high slot and we tied the game with 30 seconds left 5-5 we were heading into
