His confidence and all-around great ability cause him to be a good leader by example. He puts in a ton of work and can make his team better by improving their work habits. However, Kobe has long been credited for being a little to isolated and held back to be a true leader. He allegedly was the main cause of the break up of the best duo in basketball, him and Shaq. Still, as a leader he makes his team work harder.
He was named player of the year after his great performance his junior year. Jordan succeeded in the NBA like any other player would want to. Unlike any other rookie, he was already making a name for himself. He led his team in scoring and he scored more points than any other player in the NBA that season. This wasn’t a normal type of thing you usually see from a rookie.
Instead of doing so, he left for the Miami Heat where he has now won two straight NBA championships. But Michael Jordan won 6 championships. Do championships have a say on who exactly is the better player? Given the fact that the sport of basketball is team oriented, you really can’t make a clear judgment on who is the better player based primarily on
Winning. Kobe Bryant is a better player than LeBron James because he is a proven winner. A ring rush of 5 championships, a compilation of game-winners, having the assassin mentality, leading by example, this is what gives Kobe the edge over LeBron. Kobe Bryant and LeBron James are both extremely gifted basketball players who possess the talent and athleticism, allowing them to be prosperous at their profession. First of all, Kobe Bryant holds the record for most three- pointers made with twelve in one game, on January 7th, 2003 vs. the Seattle SuperSonics.
Collins was drafted and hired for the same reason, to restore the winning tradition of the franchise. Collins was a very successful player for the 76ers, but due to injuries was forced to retire the summer before the title won in 1983. Collins is considered one of the best coaches, however there are certain aspects of his coaching style I disagree with. For example, Jrue Holiday should not have been named the point guard because the position doesn’t fit his capabilities. He wants to be known for making the big plays, instead of distributing the basketball to his teammates.
LeBron James vs. Kobe Bryant: Who is better? Tanisha Chism COMP/170 May 8, 2012 Dr. Jackie Mangieri So it is time to address the most frequently asked question in the NBA: Who is better LeBron James or Kobe Bryant? Both are amazing athletes with similar ways of playing the game of basketball, but have different ways of accomplishing their goals on the basketball court. LeBron James and Kobe Bryant at some point have been considered the best players in the world. James and Bryant are extremely great basketball players who have some challenges yet also excelled in different ways.
Anyone reading this would agree that the players seem out of luck, and that the owners are going to win in this battle of millionaires versus billionaires. From reading the two articles, one can conclude that when dealing with writings on issues regarding the NBA lockout; logos is the rhetoric strategy that seems to get a point across easiest. While evoking emotion in readers’ works, it is felt on both sides of the argument and may leave them feeling unsure of which side is best. With logic and fact the reader is only prompted to believe a specific statement. It seems like that is why both authors seem to use logos, at the very least, in their articles.
Carl A. Rickerson Professor Evelyn Rogers English 111 22 September 2011 L.A. Lakers vs. L.A. Clippers I am a huge sports fanatic so when I saw for this essay that we could write about sports, my brain began running with ideas. I finally settled on my sport of choice the National Basketball Association, also know as the NBA. I plan to show the comparison and contrast of two of the NBA’s most storied franchises. One is storied due to its enormous success; the other because of its enormous failures. The L.A. Lakers and the L.A. Clippers.
Even though he was coming back from injury, and I think Mitch Richmond scored more than he that game, he still was “better” than the rest & scored a “measley” 19 points. But the Bulls won & that man made a lasting impression on me. DRose needs to chill out a little and play—controlling his emotions at times, expressing them at other times—but we can do without the braggadoccio (I think that is how you spell it). That is the only way the Bulls of this era will take it to the next level. I say this with love & respect.
He was once one of the most reviled athletes in the entire country. Accused of rape and severely criticized by former teammates, especially Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant faced obstacles and challenges that would have forced many to give in and give up. However, the perseverance that Bryant has shown by rebuilding his image and his team, the Los Angeles Lakers, has transformed him into a champion on the court and in life as well. The Lakers recently captured their 16th NBA championship and fifth with Kobe Bryant as its star shooting guard. “It’s so tough to win a championship, to have to start over from scratch,” said Bryant.
