It’s unnatural for people to come together in a new group and immediately begin to get along. There are often differences among cultures, personality, beliefs, and overall attitude. These individuals need to go through a process called team building, to create synergy and accomplish goals they would not have been able to otherwise. For instance, if you watched the NBA finals last year, the Miami Heat were heavily favored over the Dallas Mavericks. Individually their team had better players and if basketball were not a team sport, they would’ve won the championship. However, they lost the championship to the Dallas Mavericks, who worked better as a team. The mavericks played as a team, using great communication, trusting one another, and holding each other accountable for their actions. Through this they accomplished synergy and beat a team that had better individual players. Building camaraderie throughout your team gives individuals within a team the opportunity to understand how behavior influences the team building process. It also enables them to recognize the importance of a well-balanced team - in personality as well as skill and ability - in order to maximize team performance. Team building creates an understanding of team dynamics from forming teams, to brain storming ideas, to creating a team culture and the ability to analysis team performance. It has always been proven to increase communication skills, which is one of the most vital aspects of a good team. Communication teaches new ways to learn about new strengths and to gain insight from other team members. The more inclusive everyone is the greater the number of talents and viewpoints will be on hand to tackle problems. Team Building builds trust throughout the group or team, It creates a safe environment in which members feel free to offer constructive criticism without fear
