TDA 2.13: Provide Displays in Schools 1. Understand the school policy and procedures for displays 2.1 – Within work, we do not have a policy to do with displays. The class teachers are responsible for the displays that they want to go up in and around their classrooms. Putting up a display in the class is good for stimulating the children when it comes work. The displays can either be really informative, to which they will be able to use the information that is provided to include it into their work. Displays also create ownership over the work that has been produced as the children will notice their work on the wall, and will show both friends and parents. Within work, the frequency of which each displays are changed, varies on what is being displayed. If the display is to be used for Mathematics or for Language, the displays will either be kept the same for the whole year or they will be changed frequently in order to keep up with the new section of work. If the displays are to do with a topic that the class has just completed, these displays are changed during the term to highlight the work that is being done. When putting up a display, the teachers need to make sure that the resources used are relevant to the display. This means that the all of the information that they add, pictures, and the types of materials need to be relevant the topic. They also need to make sure that the resources are not damaged when it comes to taking the displays down. In order to do this, blue tack is recommended when it comes to holding items of work / resources up. If there is no blue tack, staples are to be used sparingly. 2.2 – Having displays within the schools is very important for many reasons. It shows what the children have been up to during there time in class, whether it be showing their work, or by showing photographs from trips or activities
