The ethical considerations of this case and the use of generalized expectations and interpretations of behavior are not unique to sexual harassment law or to the legal system. It really comes down to treating others the way that you would want to be treated. Although sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace, or anywhere, would pose a moral or ethical dilemma for most people, they are some people who might not realize that their behavior is unethical and illegal. However, since there are current laws which clearly state that it is unlawful to treat someone in the workplace unfavorably because they are from a particular country or to harass a person because of their gender, the requests for sexual favors from the foreman were a clear case of sexual harassment. This behavior along with his verbally offensive remarks directed to Mr. Calderon made the foreman’s behavior illegal.
Another opinion why this law should not be used today is because of crimal justice. Another opinion why this law should not be used today is because the person could run. Another opinion why this law should not be used today is because now there are camera's that capture everything we do. Another opinion why this law should not be used today is because it is stupid to kill someone just because they stole some property. Another opinion is because some people do not like to kill
He felt that his patients needed him more than the people in his life. He realize that his line of worked required a certain amount of attention. For example, he treated the people that worked for him entirely different as well. He would yell at them and make them stay longer than they had to, to help out at the hospital. He wasn’t getting paid any more different than the other employees and they were complaining about it.
Labeling a particular crime as special or different does not deter criminals from their true intention. If we place a "special" label on certain types of murder, rape or vandalism we are not preventing the hate that is the motive for such crimes. This is not the true goal of society. Helen Dodge makes a compelling argument to shun the members of such hateful communities in her article "Special Crimes Need Special Laws", when she says that the public should band together against such forces (Dodge 140). However, even she had to admit that these special laws won't deter the criminals who practice these violent acts.
Meth addiction harms the body in a horrific way, the drug is made up of chemicals that can kill a person also leading to the addiction, and in order to get over the drug it’s a continuous battle the person must want it for themself, and have the strength over their own mind they can’t be weak or they will fail and relapse. In the beginning use of Meth there are not many changes in appearance, but within a couple months a person’s whole appearance can be changed. The body tends to get very thin, and for most people their skin starts getting picked at leaving open wounds. The appearance can change so fast that the person may not even be recognizable. Not only does the appearance change so do the mind.
For example if a doctor is of the Jehovah witness belief and they have a bleeding patient they may not believe it is right to give them a blood transfusion but as the patient may not share that belief and it is in the patients best interest the doctor should perform the transfusion regardless of his own beliefs. Workers of the health and care industry shouldn’t let their own beliefs and attitudes effect there care or treatment of a patient and shouldn’t judge any patient on anything such as race, religion, gender, sexual orientation etc and shouldn’t get involved in patients personal life unless its effects there treatment or care. I can relate to this in my work area in many ways, one of the ways is chaperoning patients and doctors as many female patients don’t want a male chaperone. This could be due to religious beliefs or just because they feel uncomfortable with a male chaperone, so often I have to call a female colleague to chaperone in my place. Another issue is obtaining food
Why People Should Stop Using a Plastic Water Bottle There are hundreds of people who use plastic water bottles—not only on the University of Illinois campus, but worldwide as well—and there have been huge sustainability issues as the plastic water bottle industry continues to grow tremendously. Using plastic water bottles are growing to be a part of people’s lifestyle, so people don’t really think about the consequences of using them. Although there are some people that actually care and think of ways to protect our environment, the problem is that most people are ignorant about the negative impacts they bring to our environment and our bodies. The most logical reason why people should stop buying plastic water bottles is that plastic bottled water isn’t a good value. In fact, bottled water can cost up to 10,000 times more per gallon than tap water.
Art is not just something to hang on walls, but is a living, breathing phenomenon. This trend is growing all over and with many different types of people. The taboos against tattoos and piercings are finding less of a handhold as more people fall in love with them. Tattoos have a long, fascinating history and the popularity is steadily growing. There was a time when tattoos and piercings were, by many people, considered offensive as well as disgusting.
Speech Title: “Can you see past my tattoo” Speech Purpose: To persuade Thesis: The number of people with tattoos is continually growing, but employers are still reluctant to hire those with visible tattoos Introduction • Attention getting material. Is there anyone here that does not like tattoos or likes them, but would never think of getting one? Today, tattoos are a growing in popularity when before tattoos were only seen on people in a circus as an act or on military veterans who wanted to display their troop proudly. • Audience connection. Even though there is this growing popularity of tattoos, entry-level jobs require strict dress code policies disapproving the sight of tattoos while at work.
However, some people believe that smoking should not be banned in public places because it is the smoker’s choice to smoke just as it is the non-smokers choice not to smoke. President Clinton is quoted saying that “We’ve got to do more to protect people in public places and clean up the air that all of us share”. For non-smokers, inhaling someone else’s cigarette smoke can be very aggravating. It is bad enough that automobiles, processing plants, and other types of industries pollute our environment, but for a smoker to choose to smoke around a non-smoker is a violation of his or her right to clean air. An effort to change this has happened in some places to purify the air for those who do not smoke.
