Polished rose travertine stone line the rotunda, lobby and halls on the first floor. As you enter the rotunda you will notice the state seal embedded on the floor. The seal and Pioneer were sculpted by Ulric Ellerhausen. The rotunda walls are covered with four murals that represent pieces of Oregon history. The senate is on the left side of the building and the house is on the right.
Its restoration is by the eighteenth century sculptor Vincenzo Pacetti. This statue is also known as “Hope Dionysos”. This monumental statue was named after its owner, Thomas Phillip Hope. When I first looked at the statue of “Hope Dionysos”, I was stunned and mesmerized. The statue was standing gracefully with a lot of idealistic features so I decided to choose it for my museum paper assignment.
The Chapel of Charlemagne is considered a masterpiece of Carolingian architecture and is the best know surviving example of a Palatine Chapel. Each end has eight columns and was carved in the Doric style. Half of the old temple remained, and the Greeks used some of the materials from the Old Parthenon to the New Parthenon. The temple had a majestic style and outstanding materials. When the temple was completed, it glistened with white and gold. Planning for the Parthenon began in 447 B.C.

It distinguished King Ashur-nasir-pal 2’s royal authority by showing the genies protecting him. Also, the relief shows king’s unique crown and the spike which represents the ruler as a warrior.
The Parthenon has a rectangular shape as well as steps toward the building. It has several equally distributed support columns. The Parthenon is elevated on a hill which shows its importance since everyone can see it from afar. Inside, stands an important statue honoring Athena. The Parthenon is a beautiful marble temple that served as a model for the architecture of the Lincoln Memorial.
