Rakan Alotaibi 3/21/13 Music 003 Dr. J. Faraone "Symphonie Fantastique" - 5th M I listened to the 5th movement which called Dreams of a Witches' Sabbath. Berlioz is one of the greatest French composers ever and this piece is one of the best music of all time. The more I listen to it the better it gets. I felt this piece took me to a lot of places. . I do not know why, but at this part I remembered the Romanian wars. While listening to this piece, I felt a lot of things as well. At the bells with the euphoniums part I felt scared. I felt that my mind and soul went somewhere else. I like the start of this piece and I really like the bells in it as well. This piece has a little excitement in it. Also, this combination of bells sound in the music make it even more exciting and it adds this strong mixture in the piece that shakes someone’s soul, which is actually pretty interesting because the bells sound when heard anywhere. For example; at the church when they ring the bells while playing this spiritual music to the people that are listening to it, it adds this spiritual mode in people’s mind and make them stop and think about what is going happen in the future and make them look forward to the rest of the piece. At the end of the piece, it started to get this faster beat and then make me feel pretty happy and have smiley face while listening to the piece.
