The day I got Saved Cynthia Coles Everest Online ENC1101-12 The Day I got Saved The thing that was the most positive for me was when I got saved. It happened the day after my husband‘s birthday. The month was October. It happened at a co worker’s house. An older man was outside working on a car. The older man was my co worker’s preacher. It was Saturday October 11, 1980. This was the best day of my life because that was the day I got saved. That day I went over to a co worker apartment for lunch. When I first came up to her apartment I noticed an older gentle man working on a car that looked like her car. I went into her apartment. After I had been in the apartment for a while, the older man came inside and she told me he was her preacher. He asked me if I was saved I told him no. He asked if I wanted to be saved I told him yes. That Saturday was a bright sunny day I remember it so well because I had celebrated my husband’s birthday the night before. He drove me up to Ruth’s apartment so we could have lunch together. I had no idea my life was about to be changed. I was looking forward to a delicious meal but instead I got fed both with food for my body and food for my soul. That day I felt lighter than air. No one could have told me that I would feel like that. Everything around me looked brighter and clearer. It was as if I was seeing everything for the very first time. Moments after I had entered into Ruth’s apartment her preacher came in. She introduced him to me. His name was Apostle Johnnie Kirkland but people called him Preacher Man. The first question that Preacher Man asked me was “am I saved” I told him no. Preacher Man asked me if I knew I had two bodies I said “no”. He showed using an ink pen. He took the pen apart then he said the case of the pen was the outer body (flesh) and the ink was the inner body
