Resources that are used should be appropriate to the child’s age and stage of development. If a child has any special needs, then equipment that is suitable for that child must be available. It is important to plan to meet the care and learning needs of all children In this research task the importance of play in child development and how to meet the care and learning needs of the child, how to meet those needs and why it is important will be discussed. Theorist will also be used as examples to prove the importance of play and how it is not an irrelevant part of childhood. There will also be mention of legislation and learning curriculums that must be meet and followed. It is important to excersice duty of care, especially in young children to help them to develop immune systems which can protect them from childhood illness and other diseases, which may cause them harm ot disable them later in life. However, we can aim to offer each unique child equality of opportunity suited to their individual needs and requirements. We as staff need to understand the needs and requirements of each individual child. For each child to have equal opportunities, settings they learn and play in must ensure that they and their families are fully included in the setting, taking into account the diversity of the children and families who come to the setting. Inclusion is the process of making this happens. Working towards inclusion involves striving to remove barriers to children and their families.
Roles within Early Years sectors can vary. These roles require a large amount of skills. The main aim of my role is to be a dedicated member of a team who provides a safe, encouraging and inclusive environment in which young children are supported and inspired to achieve their full capacity as well as offer full support in the day to day running of the setting. As a Childcare Assistant I play a vital role in the ensuring that the children within my care are kept safe and secure in the environment they are in.
