Super Bakery, Inc. In today’s business world, many corporations and businesses try to compete with their products or services. For each of these companies, trying to manage the cost of their products and try to stay lean for better profits is one way of being successful. Super Bakery, Inc. was created as a virtual corporation. By doing this, the company’s core function was kept lean with very few employees performing company business. Under this virtual company, the main functions of their products were subcontracted to different businesses. In all essence, Super Bakery, Inc. became an umbrella corporation bring together different companies working together to perform the needs of Super Bakery, Inc. Since 1990, Super Bakery, Inc. has been growing on an average yearly rate of 20%. To control cost of every individual company under their control, Super Bakery management needed to put into place a system that can precisely allocate the exact costs of each order. By installing Activity Based Costing (ABC), the company was able to understand that the products that their companies provided was not sending cost up, but the work performed on the product was causing their capital to go up. Activity Based Costing it the preferred method in these types of corporations. I agree this system can help companies to better perform in their production and help them to keep costs low. By using this system, many companies can track costs and profits on every sale they make. This system can help each company to control the cost and profits of their products. A process order cost system would work for Super Bakery, Inc. because of the products it provides to their customers. This company is a large business that supplies mineral-, vitamin-, and protein-enriched doughnuts and other pastries to supermarkets and primarily school systems (Kieso, Kimmel, & Weygandt, 2009).
