Summary to Power Learning "Power Learning" describes three important techniques that help improve study skills. These techniques include time control, class note-taking and textbook study. Time control is all about planning your duties in a manageable fashion. These three steps will help students manage time control. First, plan out a monthly calendar with dates most important marked. Recording any events that take place on a daily to weekly basis should also be included. The things like to do such as eating, classes, work, studying, and relaxation should have set times. Making a list of the things one does is an efficient way to control your time. Marking items on your list that most important is a good way to help one remember to exercise them. It is important to cross items off your list as you do them and set another time to finish incomplete projects. If one follows a regular procedure, then class notes can also be improved. Daily attending class is a great help, and using abbreviations to break down your notes in terms only one can see. When instructor writes anything on the board it most recommended that one record the data written. Words such as "important" or "chief" emphasize words that can help determine what to take notes on. Any information related to the examples given should also be written down. After class make sure to complete notes and critique them. This will help show that they completely understand what they written. Finally, create a set of sets to help one become the master of textbook study. When understand the title in a textbook, try looking through the first and last paragraphs to find some clues on the main idea. Headings, subheading, any words is boldface or italic prints are clues to key points.
