Nutraceuticals This category would include foods or parts of foods, such as dietary supplements, herbal products, and processed foods that provide health or medical benefits, including the prevention and treatment of disease. Special Dietary Foods Under the FDCA, these foods include, but are not limited to those supplying a special dietary need that exists by reason of a physical, physiological, pathological, or other condition, including but not limited to the condition of disease, convalescence, pregnancy, lactation, infancy, allergic hypersensitivity food, underweight, overweight, or the need to control the intake of sodium.
