He mention what is the president and public want from gun control laws even the public think all new government laws will not work to reduce the illegal used of gun. I agree with Wilson criticism of gun control legislation in same time I agree with the public of the effective of the new laws. Wilson tries to propose some solutions of illegal gun and should control and ban the use of these guns. Wilson has some ideas and major actions to solve gun control debate. He mentions the relating between shrinking the stock of legally purchased guns and people self defend.
He walked because they said he felt threaten from the argument he had started. They seem to fail to realize you can’t prove self-defense if one party is dead. So many people are misusing this law that the government has written to justify a situation. Third, stand your ground law should be outlawed because of the inability of common individuals to make life and death decisions. I have researched a few stories behind the stand your ground law and its amazing how so many people have got away with murder.
We face a problem of full accountability, many owners purchase weapons without thought of receiving training for or how to secure the weapon. It is proven that “cultural orientations condition individuals’ beliefs about risk through culturally partisan forms of trust” and that “The people they trust, naturally enough, tend to be the ones who share their worldviews” (Braman and Kahan 576). Gun owners and gun controllers continually profess to the need/no need of the weapons with the many excuses but when paired down to the most basic reasoning it is “that insufficient gun control will expose to many innocent persons to deliberate of accidental shootings; and that the excessive gun control will render too many law-abiding citizens vulnerable to the violent predations” (Braman and Kahan 577). The opposition to legalized gun owner ship responds to the claims of need with their own reasoning to remove all weapons with the exceptions of government officials by reiterating with the statement that “the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution is targeted towards
But in all reality, if guns weren’t around, people would still find a way to do crazy messed up things to kill people. Yes with stricter laws on gun control there will be less shootings, but what will replace guns? President Obama’s attempt to make owning guns harder doesn’t invade your rights. Having rules to protect people is all that should matter. While some worry that they cant do what they want, the United States
Sure, guns fire out bullets that can injure and possibly kill others, but who makes the guns fire? The people who pull the trigger do. What the people of the U.S. need to is to stop focusing on stricter gun control laws and focus on the topic on hand. Mass murderers such as James Holmes of the Aurora shooting and Seung-Hui Cho, who committed the Virginia Tech massacre in 2007, have mental illnesses. Funding should be given to research of how to cure mental illnesses that lead to destruction.
She also uses the logos when she describes that the statistics has shown that the gun keeping do not guarantee your normal death rather it contributes to the more risk of death by shooting. She says, “Rigorous, peer-reviewed studies have shown that keeping a gun in your home increases the likelihood that you will die there from gun violence. Nancy Lanza’s guns didn’t protect her” (MOSLE). This means that keeping the guns do not give the protections rather it is riskier to keep them. As a teacher she should not have given a baised analyses rather she should have given some positive examples of keeping the
King later pulled the book from publication after several teenage shooters quoted it or were found with copies. The author draws comparisons between his decision and the questions he said gun owners’ rights groups should be asking in the current debate over gun control. “I didn’t pull Rage from publication because the law demanded it; I was protected under the First Amendment and the law couldn’t demand it,” he writes. “I pulled it because in my judgment it might be hurting people and that made it the responsible thing to do. Assault weapons will remain readily available to crazy people until the powerful pro-gun forces in this country decide to do a similar turnaround.” King calls for three gun
Taser Patricia A. Garey-Stokes English Composition 2 August 9, 2010 Abstract The issue of deaths from state to state caused by police officers use of tasers and how it affects peoples’ lives. Some states are in the midst of doing something about the problem. The amount of Taser deaths has grown more and more over time with the use of tasers. Governments are trying to change when and how an officer uses their taser guns and how it is necessary not to harm both the offender and the user. Families of the victims are suing police departments for the misuse of their taser guns, which resulted in the deaths of their love ones.
Kristen Rand, the Director of the Violence Policy Center, argues “[c]oncealed carry permit holders don't prevent mass shootings, they perpetrate them” (Carmi Times, 2011). The problem with this statement isn’t that it is incorrect, but rather it’s completely irrelevant. Of course, when murders are committed with handguns, a certain percentage of offenders are individuals who hold concealed-carry permits. This, however, is not an appropriate indictment of concealed carry laws. Using this logic, citizens would be denied the ability to drive cars because drunk drivers use them to kill people.
America and the Right to Bear Arms COM323: Persuasion and Argumentation December 3, 2012 The issue of gun control and gun laws is one of great disagreement between political parties, state and federal government, and even between neighbors and family members. There are groups that believe violent crime will decrease with the passing of stricter gun laws, which would prohibit the ownership of dangerous weapons. However, the fact of the matter remains that guns do not kill people; other people are responsible for the guns they use to hurt or kill other people. Responsible gun ownership, just like responsible operation and use of any dangerous equipment, including cars, heavy machinery and even kitchen knives, is the only thing that will limit or contain the danger of using such a weapon. When the founding fathers of our young nation debated certain inalienable rights, one leading figure eloquently stated the following: “Firearms stand next in importance to the constitution itself.
