Another Asian culture is that young adults have responsibility for taking care of elders. Education is also important for Asian family. Asian parents always push their children very hard and force them to get very high scored on their education because they want their children to be “perfect”. Asian parents believe that high education can get a much better life and job. Asian parenting might look pushy and pressuring to Western eyes, but that is what Asian-American children say their parents’ guidance is warm and love.
I’m a well-eddicated lady and I’m trying to revolutionise this school with my teaching, but it isn’t going to be possible if I can’t get control of a class of six year olds. I know, sir, don’t give up; I suppose the kids mean well. Though their pity makes me angry, I appreciate their comforting gestures. I guess that I will just press on. That’s all we can do in this day and
Flowers then encouraged Marguerite, “to listen carefully to what country people called mother wit.” which means a person needs more than just book smarts to be consider intelligent and to able to use that intelligence to survive in life; a person that has wits though life experiences can be more intelligent than people that just gain knowledge in only school books because the people with wits are more savvy from their social life experiences compare to people that live life educated only though book. Maya Angelou is telling this story because she wanted to teach the audience that a person with formal education by only books doesn’t equate to intelligence. She implies, that even some college professors are less intelligent and don’t have as much wit as to some country folks because, the country folks have learned important lessons in life that only life experiences can teach but books cannot teach these important life lessons, base on the passage she wrote, “That some people, unable to go to school, were more educated and even more intelligent than college professors, to listen carefully to what country people called mother wit.” The story’s settings are important because it was part of U.S history, where blacks were look upon as second class citizens compare to whites. This was suggested in the passage where Marguerite complements her idol Mrs. Flowers whom is a black woman, by comparing her to a white woman,
I would take the time to explain a few things to her. While it may be true that computer prices are dropping, that doesn’t mean that a company should wait to purchase to new computers just because there is a chance that the prices will drop even lower. Depending on how long she waits to purchase new computers, the employees could be so far behind on the latest technology (software and hardware) that the company would need to spend extra money to send these employees to trainings. Information systems hardware is rapidly evolving; therefore, it is important not to get too far behind on “the latest and greatest.” If the company does not purchase the new computers soon, they may lose business to their competitors who do have up-to-date equipment. As far as being 100% effective goes, the employees may still be able to effectively do their jobs, but she has to take into consideration the fact that by not getting new equipment, the methods in which they do their jobs is outdated.
Coming from a relatively poor family, Anastasia worked as a cleaning lady and borrowed textbooks from her classmates to save and make as much money as she could. Anastasia came to the US for a better education and life, compared to Russia’s hard and cruel standards. Anastasia is a hero because she showed courage by going to school in a whole new country, adapted to a whole new language and lifestyle, and persevered through her financial issues by working over time and saving up as much as she could. Anastasia is a hero because she showed courage by
4-Audience: I think her audience in her essay is parents ,that with getting agree with her could be stand behind any teacher who is going to use “Flaking “style for their children in schools ,with that knowledge this method is useful for them. 5-Induction:In my opinion her induction for using flaking as a style of teaching ,has not enough strong to influence parents or other teacher to use flaking .she must be more specific with more details and
On the seventh page of the book, Ruby is focused on doing her work in an isolated classroom; Ruby seemed to ignore the fact that she was isolated and fully immersed herself in her textbooks. This makes the reader react with admiration due to the fact that she values education highly to the extent that she does not care about not having friends. Based on these two texts, we can see that the documentary represents education as the only key to a better future, while in the picture book, education is treated as a step to encourage racial equality and a new change to the racially segregated society of America in the 60s. From this, we can see that both texts convey the idea of education in different
Policy analyst Elena Silva at the Education Sector research backs them up. Many studies showed that there is no relation between the length of the school year and academic achievement for most students. There are pros and cons to year round school so schools should decide if the pros are worth the extra time, effort and money when it doesn’t necessarily improve academic performance. 2. Because of the challenge, the young daughter Lin knows that everyone is the same when they try to learn something new. Overcoming the obstacle of adaptation is not as hard as the young daughter Lin’s thoughts because as long as she tries her best, everything is going to be okay.
