I would also establish a system whereby my students complete a record card or form detailing name, contact information and any other relevant information such as medical needs. Regulations out of the way, personalities are important. I believe that if I am friendly, my learners will relax and know they can feel secure in my class when it starts. Nobody likes to learn with a grumpy teacher. I will always do a fun warm up which helps break the ice.
This can be done using SEAL lessons and SEAL groups. We run social groups where children are encouraged to talk and work out strategies on dealing with behaviours and problems they might have. We follow time to talk programmes to develop communication skills and retracking programmes for children who may need to reflect on any problems they may have had that week, this involves finding strategies so that it doesn’t happen again. We are lucky to have a team of play therapists that take small groups of children with issues once a week. All classrooms have posters promoting positive behaviours and feelings.
In my opinion I think I like all year around in school. If kids really look at it, we get alota days out for a break. Many schools also need to come on there education because the drop out rate may come back up if it already haven’t. Many schools say they do many things to help students and they really care about the students, blah blah blah, some schools are just all talk. Schools have at least a hand full of teachers that really care about the students life after high school, some teachers make sure that there students go to college and some don’t even care what goes on when were out of there classroom.

These peers make appointments after school with the teacher whether it’s because they didn’t understand a certain topic, for better study habits, review, etc. They are also in a study group and meet every so often with them to go over material that they don’t understand or to help others with it. Those who are serious about their education, participate in class more. They do this as a means of showing that they understand the material. In every test or quiz given to them, they get mastery or above on them because they study and read over their notes every night.
In the classroom the five class rules are posted on the wall. These rules go as follows “Rule #1: Follow directions quickly, rule #2: raise your hand for permission to speak, rule #3: respect your school, others, and yourself, rule #4: make smart choices, and rule #5: keep your dear teacher happy!” The rooms are also decorated with student class work and motivational posters.
Educational Psychology in the Classroom Rebecca Lyons Grand Canyon University – Educational Psychology in the Classroom 01/14/2015 Getting to know the students in a classroom is a great way to teach lessons effectively in a way that will come through to each student in the classroom. Students will typically hold more respect for a teacher that takes the time to get to know them rather than a teacher that doesn’t bother to try to connect with the student as an individual. One way to get to know students in the classroom is to take the first five to ten minutes of class and greet each student individually. Make mental notes that Jimmy plays baseball every Saturday, Sally is acting in the school’s upcoming play, etc. This will make the
Bude Park Pledge is a pledge that the pupils made and stick too with the behaviours they wish everyone in school to go by. There are copies of the pledge all around the school to remind children and staff. Home reading children are asked to read at home 5 times a week if they do so they receive awards in the way of a sticker on their bookmarks each time they read and when their bookmarks are full they receive a prize. Health and safety policy will explain to children and staff how to act and work in a safe environment which in turn will encourage children to be safe and positivity will come from this. School policies that are affected by and support behaviour management.
In the beginning of the school year we do a lot of team building exercises to make them more comfortable and to allow everyone to get use to each other. I have also found it helps them gain trust for there mentor, after the first couple of weeks they begin to open up and talk with you. A month or so after the program has started we get put on a schedule three days a week we will talk and to exercises together, the other two days are study days we go around our classroom and help them with there homework. This also allows them to talk to you on a more personal basis then in front of the rest of their
The plan to help with this challenging behavior would be to introduce him to his classmates and have him to sit with them and discuss their names and things that they like to do. This will help with the child interacting with his peers and respecting them. If this plan is used weekly, the child will soon be able to sit with peers with out disturbing behavior. Introducing the child to the classroom rules, expectations, and procedures will help him understand his expectations. This should be done daily to get him to follow the rule and routines of the classroom.
