Making a Pizza What’s your favorite food? Well a lot of American’s even if it’s not their favorite food, pizza is close to the top of their favorite foods list. I know it is at the top of mine! That is part of the reason why my first job was at a popular pizza restaurant “Pizza Hut”. In this essay I am going to explain step by step the way to make your favorite pizza. The first process in making your pizza is called prepping. The first thing you do before preparing your pizza is to wash your hands with soap with very warm water. The water should be as hot as you can get it without burning yourself or it being too hot for comfort. After you are done with washing your hands, you would get your supplies needed, which is the following; your deep dish 12 inch in diameter pan, a bottle of oil and a spray oil, and from the freezer your dough. The dough is not like you see in the movies or like you would imagine they are pre-cut in round disks and to start out they are only about 8 inches in diameter and about a quarter inch thick. Once you get all your supplies you first put just enough oil in the pan to cover the bottom of the pan in a thin layer of oil. The next steps of this process is to put the frozen dough in the pan and make sure it is in the center and spray the outer edge of the dough like where the crust would be with your canned oil. After your pizza is prepped it is not ready to put sauce and toppings on it and go in the oven. The next stage is called proofing, which doesn’t involve much hands on work. What you do when you need to proof your pizza is you put your pizza in what is called the proofer. The proofer is what we can picture as a modern day sauna. It isn’t going to cook the dough but it will make the dough rise and get it ready to be cooked. You let it sit in the proofer for about 20 to 30 minutes or until you see the dough has rose about a half
