Stress we all have had it at some point in our lives. Stress does not discriminate against age, sex, or race. Stress can feel like a living, breathing monster closing in around us and if we do not tackle this monster he will leave us crumpled in a heap lying on the floor gasping for breath. Stress is most common in (but is certainly not limited to) the work place, and if it is left untreated it can lead to many health problems and possibly even death; however, not all stress is harmful, because some types are even normal and may be used as a motivator, though in order to relieve harmful stress one must look at the causes, effects, and solutions of it.
Stress can be from lots of sources. Procrastination is a very common stressor but comes with an easy fix; Benjamin Franklin once said, “Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today.” Just following that one bit of advice from Benjamin Franklin can cut down on a lot of stress.Webmd.com says everyone has different stress triggers. Lets look at some common sources of work related stress. These could come from work over load, never taking a break, the lack of support and appreciation from coworkers or management or even fear of job security.
The effects of uncontrolled persistent work related stress could certainly be harmful to a person’s health. Stress can contribute to headaches, stomachaches, and difficulty concentrating, and if left untreated can result in anxiety, high blood pressure and weight issues, depression or possibly even death.   Stress is not limited to just our jobs. Stress can occur in relationships with our significant others. Stress can come in the form of a newborn that has her days and nights confused, we can even feel stressed when the doorbell rings with an unexpected visitor and our home is not “company ready”.
