All three times I went to Little Caesars the service was poor and I went to a different place every time. The first time I went to the store and the service was poor I walked into the store and the cashier didn't treat me with any type of respect. They did not greet me and just said, "what do you want ?" with a mean tone in their voice. I just let it go because maybe he was having a bad day but as I started to order it seemed like the cashier was trying to overcharge me.
Company Q was not being socially responsible when they closed two grocery stores that were located in the same general area of the city, they did not show a commitment to their employees and the community? When they closed their doors, that meant jobs were lost in the community, this instinctively brings anger towards the food chain. Company Q should have seriously considered what these closures could do to their reputation. Through the years, Company Q was not being socially responsible when they didn’t listen to the customers about stocking healthier foods and organic products. Company Q eventually listened and brought in a limited selection of products, but the customers found them to be to expensive to purchase.
False advertising is also another unpleasant practice that fast food companies use to lure in costumers. Some of these practices include no warning labels on advertisements like there are on dangerous things like tobacco and confusing labels on food served that lead customers into eating more calories than intended. David Zinczenko advocates that it is some of the fast food companies fault for the decline in America’s general health. At the end, David chooses not to complain about the legalities, but instead encourages us to let the justice system do its work. In the article David Zinczenko discusses “Shouldn't we know better than to eat two meals a day in fast-food restaurants” we the people of America should know by now that it is
Company Q currently does not seem to be as socially responsible as it could be. It has recently closed a couple of stores in a higher-crime-rate area, because the stores were supposedly losing money. It has also chosen not to donate outdated products to the local food bank because it fears employees may steal food, claiming that the food is for donating to the food bank. In evaluating Company Q’s current attitude toward social responsibility, I found them to be lacking in some areas that might help boost the companies ability to have a more cohesive ethical culture with in the company and therefore be able to retain more revenues as a result. The first action that Company Q could take to improve its attitude toward social responsibility would be to donate the outdated food to the local food bank.
Outsourcing the cooking activity can hamper the quality of foods as the management department of the restaurant will not have any control over the quality of foods. Thus it can lose its customers. Buffalo Wild Wings is popular for the unique taste of the wings. Due to outsourcing of cooking it can lose the secret of that unique taste and thus can lose competitive
A lot of people were seeking treatment, but there was a limited amount of resources because there was no money coming in. Like the headline in “Big Med”, “Restaurant chains have managed to combine quality control, cost control, and innovation. Can health care? (Gawande 2012).” Gawande might talk about how health care could be benefiting patients and those who work in the system. Something that surprised me is that both of Gawande’s article connect.
In the documentary they showed an example of a family that cant afford healthy food because the price of this foods are too expensive for them to buy with their budget. The father of this family was already having health problems because he was taking medicine for his diabetes he had acquired from eating junk food. Many Americans are suffering from overweight problems because instead of consuming healthy calories they are doing the opposite. In another part of the documentary it showed, how immigrants that are working for these companies were being hunted down by immigration in their own houses. The bad part is that both the meat packaging companies and immigration knew that this people were illegals, but they still kept hiring them and letting them work for a while in there companies.
Some state law allows law enforcement personal to pocket leftover funds after feeding prisoners provided they can still provide for their basic needs. The incentive to cut on quality and quantity resulted in the arrest and sentencing some of the law enforcement personal and the judge concluded that they had failed to provide “a nutritionally adequate diet.” Even when food isn’t rotten, that doesn’t mean it is particularly appetizing. Occasionally, the food tastes so bad that it has been considered unconstitutional in some states. Sickness and hunger are a common and increasingly accepted part being a prisoner in America. In addition to stale and rotten food, serving are often extremely small.
We don’t want to point out skin color” (Bronson 2). The study brought to light that many just couldn’t talk about race when talking about race is clearly the key. This can be seen back to Carey’s story and my experience with working at the restaurant. If we didn’t speak out, we would probably still be alienated from the
Nowadays, the retail industry is targeting younger adults and senior citizens for hire and Wal-Mart is especially guilty for this. In reality it’s impossible to make a living working in retail and these targets are easy to manipulate. The majority of Wal-Marts goods are made outside of the U.S. and often in sweatshops. It’s displeasing and although the fine low prices are tempting, some customers will disappear because customers will feel terrible of workers treatment. Without customers, there is no business and this will hurt this large company in the long-term.
