Abstract Steve Jobs, one of the founders of Apple Computer, was a man that was creative, he had a vision, and he was a leader. His creations led him to begin one of the most successful companies in the world, which would eventually create a shift in the world of technology. As an executive, Jobs had a temperament that was not always welcomed in the professional atmosphere, this ultimately led to his demise and being asked to leave by the Board of Directors and friend John Sculley, who was then CEO of Apple Computer. This was a blow that Jobs did not take lightly. After several years, and with the finding of another company, Jobs was asked to return to Apple Computers. He came back more focused and determined to succeed. Jobs leadership traits, charismatic leadership style and charismatic leadership traits are analyzed. The communication style of Jobs as a charismatic leader is also discussed. Jobs creativity and passion for innovation were in advance of his time. The combination of autocratic and entrepreneurial leadership styles are what best describes Jobs. As a leader Jobs influencing tactics where those of a subject matter expert. He had the ability to captivate the audience when it was time to unveil one of Apple’s many best selling products. Jobs group member characteristics are in the category of contingency leadership, specifically the expertise approach. Jobs had position power, legitimate power, information power and power stemming from ownership.
