As a manager, I can see myself inspiring my subordinates to think, grow and take responsibility for them. I do this by demonstrating belief in what my staff members can accomplish. I believe that I can help people to improve, and I enjoy managing and supporting their efforts. Moreover, observing the best in people is important to me. In fact, my ability to combine an acceptance of others as they are with the inspiration and encouragement they need to become even better is what makes me a valuable mentor, manager, co-worker, and friend.
This book also helps show the pride that I have in my family. My family is a big part of my life and I have been proud of them in many ways. My family has managed to remain close even though most of my family still lives in Lithuania and the fact that as a family we are all still close and support each other makes me very proud of the bond that we all share with one another. Lastly, Lithuania has impacted me culturally. I have learned many things from my family that have helped me grow to be a better person.
The office of student development is supportive, caring, and full of energy. Because of them I have decided to go into the field of Student Affairs. The office of student development has an extremely unique staff that I would have no idea what I would do without any of them. The first person I met in student development was frank, he automatically become a role model to me. frank is the one who helped me decide to get involved into the school because of how supportive he was.

I thought the project work itself was fun, creating the reports and memos and other communication were great practice for the real world. I really enjoyed getting to know 2 of my team members whom I worked very closely with on this project and will keep in touch with after this class is long over.
The Piece it together activity cemented our collaboration commitment and was a great way to get us all together. With each problem solved or goal achieved, excitement grows within the team and a sense of accomplishment is felt once the process is completed (Bethea, Holland, & Reddick 2014). Highly effective teams are also proficient at the process of self –evaluation. These collaborations learn from each experience, gaining knowledge and skills to address the next challenge or situation. A collaboration’s honest critiquing of the care process encourages growth and leads to an even more effective team. #2 Effective collaborations though can only form if there are effective members on the team.
A mentor will be part cheerleader, part coach, part teacher, part student, and part guide and part listener. Mentor’s guide, inspires, and encourages their mentees. Many qualities can make a great mentor; among these include the willingness to share knowledge, expertise and skills.
