The representative for my district (10310-1929) in the House of Representatives is Michael E. McMahon. He is a German and Irish, fifty three year old man. He has been married for over 20 years to Judith Novellino McMahon, justice of the New York State Supreme Court. They have two children together. His son Joseph who currently attends the University Of Notre Dame and his daughter Julia, who attends Dartmouth University. Michael McMahon was born and raised in the North Shore of Staten Island, in the Stapleton neighborhood. His interest in American politics came about during his years working as a busboy at Demyan’s Hofbrau, where his mother also had employment. From then on Michael McMahon was determined to serve his people of Staten Island and New York City.
After completing four years and graduating from St. John Hill Academy and Monsignor Farrel High School, Mr. McMahon went on to attend New York University. Here he received his undergraduate degree. Following that he received his law degree from New York Law School.   To top off his education he also attended University of Heidelberg in Germany for two years.
During the time he was attending New York Law School, Mr. McMahon made his first venture into public service by working for Assemblyman Eric Vitaliano. He then went on to work as an aide to Assemblywoman Elizabeth Connolly. Then following that he also work as an aide for Council Member Jerome Donovan. On November 6, 2001, he was elected to succeed Donovan on the City Council.   While on the Council, Mr. McMahon became the person every came to on all things waste management and transportation. Sharpening his skills and knowledge after working to improve conditions in these two areas, He served as chair of the Council’s Committee on Sanitation and Solid Waste Management.
