When I proceeded to my first exhibit I was, honestly, mildly amused. As I examined the room filled with artwork decorating the walls, I could not locate a painting that would seize my attention until; I walked through the door and into another part of the exhibit. In this room I saw a painting that did just that, ravished my senses, but unbeknown to me this would be a regular occurrence for the duration of my visit. Walking through the different exhibits was captivating, with some causing me to feel deep emotion in just observing them. The sculptures were magnificent being able to pay close advertency to the detail.
Her use of imagery here is to convey her own image of the region she knows so well, to her reader. This image portrays a sense of glorification, yet another of disappointment and loneliness, because it gives the effect that the Midwest is rather dull and boring to be in. She also describes the women who call this region their home, as blonde, fresh-faced, and Midwestern. This supports the idea that news anchors and movie stars come from this area, suggesting that they acquire a “perfect” image and are highly important or above average. This creates a sense of admiration for the reader, and also shows the pride that Marquart has for the people of her hometown.
Nothing could compare to the fascination I had with the Gnathia-Ware art I encountered at the museum. I decided to take a trip back to the Museum to view the piece once again. I wanted to make sure this was definitely the piece to write my essay on. The second trip back was just as wonderful as the first. I am Glad I made the trip.
While I realize her work spoke directly of her time and life experience, which in itself is compelling, I found her work extremely rudimentary and juvenile. I left the High Museum with a different appreciation for art. Albeit, I would not have been working as hard to absorb or critic each piece if I weren’t a student on assignment. But am very thankful for the assignment, I got so much more from viewing the various works because of this class then I would’ve

Contextual Analysis: La Table Aux Amours (The Demidoff Table) Sculpted in 1845, La Table aux Amours was a commission by Lorenzo Bartolini for his most prolific and loyal patron, Count Anatoly Nicolaevich Demidoff (Heilbrunn Timeline of Art History). Lorenzo Bartolini and Count Anatoly Demidoff had little in common, though both came from humble beginnings. Bartolini was born in Vernio, Tuscany. As his familial craft was blacksmithing, so from an early age Bartolini was taught to work with materials in three-dimensional space. However, creating petty decorative metalwork did not satisfy the boy.
He had a strong belief that “photographs were not taken from the environment, but were made into something greater than themselves.” Ansel Adams has produced some of the most beautiful and stunning gelatin silver prints that the world has ever known. His strong contrast, amazing lines, sometimes puzzling abstractions and beautiful compositions will catch the breath of any viewer. He died on April 22,
They were all fantasized with how good my project board looked, how artistic I made everything and how visual it was the only problem that came to me was the question “What is Hollister Co.?” These judges were kind of old ladies they would probably have no idea or never shopped or seen this store at the mall before, but since I am an avid customer that shops there I had no problems explaining to them what the store was and what it was like. So then I continued to lead right on into the start of my project I was flowing pretty well and having a good time with these ladies. Once my 20 minutes was almost over I wrapped it up and said “goodbye, have a nice day.” Phew that was finally over but I think I did a good job so now I’d have to kill time till after noon so I can get to see how my results came out and see what I placed. So I went and placed my stuff in our class corner so I didn’t have to carry arm loads of stuff around, then I went to
When I see something like that, I think it is art because I believe that the florist who arranged them has an amazing talent to take something so simple and create a masterpiece. I think that is part of what art is. Taking something so simple like paper and pencil, paint, clay, or even flowers and transforming it into a new piece of beauty. This ability takes talent, and not everyone can accomplish such outcomes. Another example of someone taking something so simple, and creating something so complex and beautiful would be mathematicians.
Cultural Event Report 1 Assignment 3: Cultural Event Report Humanities 112 Cultural Event Report 2 I was happy to find an art museum locally and was interested to see what it had to offer. The museum I visited was the Huntington Museum of Art located in Huntington, West Virginia. I attended the museum by myself on Monday December 5th. I felt studying the art on my own, quietly was the best way to complete the assignment. Upon getting to the museum I was greeted by a friendly lady at the front desk.
