Staffing Process Staffing Process The human resource planning process and the organizations strategic development process go hand in hand in developing a successful organization. The overall development process takes place by upper level management, once the top management have determined the company’s purpose and develop a structured mission statement, establishing goals and objectives is the next step. Once those goals are established, management is split up and departments are established to obtain those goals and objectives. Lower management or supervisors usually work one on one with employees in those departments. It is their job to make sure each employee is doing their job in working towards those goals established by upper management. Developing a successful organization takes time, structure, and careful thought. “Organization Development is an effort (1) planned, (2) organization-wide, and (3) managed from the top, to (4) increase organization effectiveness and health through (5) planned interventions in the organizations "processes,” using behavioral-science knowledge” (Beckhard , 1969). In the world of business often times changes occur in a planned out way or abruptly, either way there are five key steps in the organizational process to maintain a successful organization. The first step includes reviewing the organizations plans and goals. The plans and goals of an organization dictates the activities. The second step is determining work activity, Creating a list of tasks to be accomplished begins with identifying ongoing tasks and ends with considering the tasks unique to this business (Plunkett 200). The third step in the process is, classifying and grouping those activities. This is the process in which activities are separated according to their job description and departments are developed.
