Motivated to earn a degree, I did not let that stop me from achieving my dreams. I came prepared and eager to learn in my class every day. After one month, my high school counselor told me great news, “Based on your translated transcript, you have course credits more than we require, and based on your current grades, you performed well. You are ready to be in the senior level.” Given the opportunity, I did not waste my time lingering around. I asked one of my teachers where she graduated and she said proudly, “University of Michigan”.

Ive been so carefree in the past that I’ve messed up my chances and already have very high school loans in deferment. I also want to successfully complete my 4 year sentence with the Nevada division of parole and probation. That is the most important goal of all. I know everyone says that they’re innocent in situations like this but I just got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time and am now dealing with the consequences. Going further into my life at 5 years I would like to have an engineering job with Walt Disney Imagineering in Orlando, FL and at that point be financially stable with a house and a car.
Going to college is a most excellent idea no matter how old you are. In today’s society it is a prerequisite for survival to obtain a college degree. It’s a goal one must have in order to make a new beginning and to be able to combat life’s challenging issues, to hope and strive for a better future. College opens you to new ideas and new ways of thinking about the world, and it expands your personal horizons. Globalisation has led to an easier life in many ways due to development, people now have more variety than ever before, technology has made things incredibly easy and quick for people. For example 20 years ago if you were a student and you had to find out about a certain topic you’d have to go through quite a few different books and spend quite a while looking into each one individually to find what you need. Now however you can just type it into a search engine and all the best explanations come straight up, in some instances you don’t have to even read it as it can read it to you. You could then say that a major cause for this dramatic break through in technology is due to the fact that globalisation has linked together so many different countries and the businesses in those countries, this has then led to an increase in competition, which then leads to increased efficiency and standards to beat the competition, thus driving up standards and prices decreasing for the consumer. However there are also negative impacts on people from globalisation.
In an ever advancing world, we are constantly being bombarded with new technology. One of the most life changing pieces of technology was the personal computer. Throughout the past decade computers have advanced even more and almost everyone has one of their own or access to one at places like a school or library. With the ability to obtain vast amounts of information so simply with just a few clicks, the computer seems like such a great object. Although the computer is fantastic in many ways and has helped improve civilization’s way of living, have people all over the world come to rely on this device too much?

It seems like it’s a lot to be accomplished in five years, but with the passion and dedication I have, it can be done. In June 2014 I will be graduating with my associates’ degree. Instead of stopping there, I am also going to register for the bachelors program. I will not sell myself short. I am the only person in my immediate
