Executive Summary As per the request of the COO of Riordan Manufacturing, Hugh McCauley, Team D has developed a recommendation for companywide improvements and maintenance of the existing business systems. This service request required Team D to analyze of the current business processes to determine necessary steps to maintain the systems, procure replacement systems and possible improvements or expansion of existing systems. Department Systems • Finance and Accounting • Sales and marketing • Human Resources • Legal • Information Technology • Operations Finance and accounting business systems Riordan Manufacturing has three operating entities in Georgia, Michigan, and California. There is also a joint venture in the People’s Republic of China. The operating entities each have their own Finance & Accounting Systems and they provide input that is consolidated at Corporate in San Jose. The basic components of each system are as follows: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, order entry, procurement, sales and purchase history, invoicing and shipping, payroll, financial reporting, EDI, bar code reading, and EDSS (executive decision support system). The EDI, bar code reading, and EDSS (executive decision support system) are only used in the corporate headquarters in San Jose, California. The situation with each locations finance and accounting systems The corporate office in San Jose needs to obtain a license that includes an application source code in order to upgrade the existing license that they have. The license that they have is a fully integrated Windows based ERP manufacturing, distribution, and financial management software application that is specifically designed for plastics processors and process and assembly manufacturers.
