There are a variety of sports available for students to play in high schools and colleges. Sports can help attain success for students in many ways. Relieve of stress, learning of teamwork, and the possibility of a sports scholarship are all positive effects of sports in school. Whether it is in middle school or college, stress can be found in all students. Students will find any way to relieve themselves of the burdens of school. The most common medium students use to relieve stress is sports. Sports can help alleviate the mind of school work and anxiety, during students’ downtime. In addition to relief of stress, sports can help students learn of many key skills such as teamwork, hard work, and perseverance. Many sports involve teamwork, and all sports players can tell you teamwork is key to victory. Hard work, dedication, and determination are all extremely important, when it comes to sports. Thirdly, the ultimate goal of a high school sports player is a sports scholarship. This also inspires athletes to try their hardest in school to reach their aspiration. A minimum GPA (grade point average) is required for playing sports, so students must have decent grades to even get on the team. Most colleges want good grades for athletes too, so sports players strive to attain success in academics as well as athletics. In conclusion, sports are almost always beneficial for students.
