Persuasive Speeches (Starter Activity) Your Head has cancelled all events for Yrs 9 because they need to do more work for their portfolios and exams. A group of parents are supporting the Head and you have been asked to speak to them on behalf of the KS3 students. If you need some help try reading through the scenario below and use the same techniques to create your speech. |Passionate persuasion – a day in the life of a typical teenager. | |Your friend is having a party on Friday and, naturally you really want to go but your parents have other ideas. They’re planning a visit to Great | |Aunt Clara and know how much she’d love to see you. Persuading your mum to say yes to the party is your determined goal – Friday is the deadline and| |you need an answer now! | | | |Your first approach is a little calm reasoning (“Everyone from school will be there mum.
