Space Exploration Many people think that we should not continue to explore space, mainly because it is dangerous. It is true that it is dangerous, because there have been accidents such as the Space Shuttle Columbia back in 2003. Many people also think that we should continue to explore space, however they should know the dangers but also know that it is useful for our Earth and its people. If we continue to explore space, we can find out more things that may help us on Earth. The people who are against space exploration are against it because of the possible dangers that could happen. These dangers are mainly caused byspacecrafts or space shuttles. As said before, an example is the Space Shuttle Columbia that broke apart in flames over Texas on February 1, 2003 and the seven astronauts aboard were killed (The Enquirer). It is also said that space exploration is not worth the cost. Joseph Lieberman states that the money that is used for space exploration should be used here on Earth for health care, education, and veterans’ benefits and homeland security. “If our nation can spend twenty billion dollars to send a man to the moon, it can spend billions of dollars to put God’s children on their own two feet right here on earth” – says Martin Luther King Jr. (Space Daily). However, these costs for space exploration are definitely worth it because astronomers have found out many things that may help us on Earth. We explore space to be able to create technologies that can be used on Earth. The most useful technology created was the satellite technology because it is involved with our planet in many ways. For example, weather satellites – they help us track hurricanes and monitor the weather and climate on Earth. Weather satellites are very helpful for news stations and radio stations. Another type of a useful satellite is communication satellites – they allow us
