Statement of Purpose Dear the admissions committee members, I have the pleasure to write this letter to express my intent to join in the Masters of Aerospace Engineering program. I have a bachelor of Engineering from Lakireddy Balireddy College of Engineering/JNTU-Kakinada in Mylavaram, Krishna District, A.P(India) in the field of Mechanical Engineering. It was the time while I was advancing through my graduation course of Mechanical Engineering that I realized the true potential and vast domain of it. Mechanical Engineering has a flexibility that allowed students to choose numerous and diversified fields for their Masters course one of them being Aerospace Engineering. My undergraduate studies include subjects related to the Aerospace engineering department. I enjoyed these subjects and I had good grades in them. I also read many Aerospace textbooks as a personal interest. Some of the books I read are "Introduction to Flight" by John D. Anderson and "Aerodynamics for Engineering Students" by EL Houghton. One of the areas that fascinated me the most is the gas turbines which is the heart of all flying machines. The study of these in Thermal Engineering made me dumbstruck and left me wanting for more. Out of this interest I gained over these I worked as an intern in GMR Gas turbine power plant where I was exposed to gas turbines and jet engines and I fell in love with these amazing machines and the entire field of Aerospace Engineering fascinated me. For the first time it occurred to me that It would have been better if I would had taken the course of Aerospace Engineering in Bachelors degree itself but nevertheless Mechanical Engineering provided me with the opportunity to pursue my Masters course in Aerospace Engineering. Out of this very interest did I do my project on increasing the efficiency of turbines which turned out to be a invaluable asset to my
